Sharing and caring for a rainwater tank was written by Sibongile Mphuthing who was a student at Rhodes University when she joined the course. She was also a member of the student run project called Galela Amanzi . The main aim of Galela Amanzi is to ensure water security in the key locations in disadvantaged communities in Grahamstown. She participated in the Changing Practice and water knowledge mediators course which was the first Changing Practice course. During this course participants developed knowledge resources based on their own matters of concern that they could use in their own work. What Sibongile researched, through her change project, was that it was one thing to install a rain tank and another to maintain it. Her book was written for those who looked after the installed rain tanks so that they also knew how to maintain them.
